FUNNY FRIDAY CLIP #18: Brokeback Potter.
You have to admire the people who spend their time splicing all these clips together...!

FUNNY FRIDAY CLIP #17: The Batman Complex.
Ok, so this isn't exactly a 'funny' video.
But it's most definitely a fantastic and well-crafted spoof using a number of Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio films.
Plus, a certain three-second cameo did make me laugh out loud the first time I saw this.

FUNNY FRIDAY CLIP #16: Trailer For Every Oscar-Winning Movie Ever.
Now, I know a lot of people hate the term 'Oscar-bait'. But every year a healthy batch of films are termed as such.
I saw this video a few months back and it sends-up the idea brilliantly.
Thank you to Catherine Hill for reminding me of it this week!

FUNNY FRIDAY CLIP #15: Literal Trailers.
I found these yesterday from the genius that is Tobuscus.
Subscribe to him on YouTube, he's a lot of fun.
This TRON: LEGACY one had me giggling like a little kid - watch out for Jeff Bridges!

May Desktop: True Romance.
Of all the films I watched last month, Tony Scott's TRUE ROMANCE was my definite favourite.
Patricia Arquette's laugh is quite possibly the most wonderful thing ever and it makes you wonder why Christian Slater never quite exploded into the star that he deserved to be, say along the lines of Tom Cruise.
Anyway, here's the two of them sitting on a bed, in the midst of their whirlwind romance.
Gotta love 'em.

FUNNY FRIDAY CLIP #14: Transforminators.
What would happen if the Terminators and Transformers joined forces...?
Well, it doesn't look rosy for Christian Bale and Shia LaBeouf, that's for sure.

So now you really are being attacked from all sides by me - Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and here. Sorry about that.
Anyway, here's week one for you.

April Desktop: The Fall.
I know for a fact that very few of you who read this post will have seen this film.
Don't get me wrong, this isn't arrogance, just the fact that I hadn't even heard of THE FALL until a friend waxed lyrical about it to me last month.
THE FALL got an extremely limited cinematic release back in 2008 and graces many 'Top Films' lists. It stars Lee Pace (an actor who should be well into the A-list by now in my opinion) and Catinca Untaru. I challenge you to find another performance by a young child this decade as affecting and equally delightful as her portrayal of the inquisitive Alexandria.
It was shot in over 18 countries and could very well be the most visually stunning film I have ever seen. HD, Blu-ray, all that high-tech stuff, well, it was designed for THE FALL. Why this film was passed over for any Oscar nominations is truly beyond me.

FUNNY FRIDAY CLIP #12: Angry Birds.
Now, I know not everyone will understand this, but what with Apple being an international phenomenon, it only seemed right to branch into this insanely popular App, 'Angry Birds'.

FUNNY FRIDAY CLIP #11: Optimus Prime Is Michael Jackson.
TRANSFORMERS and Michael Jackson. Two words I never thought I'd write in the same sentence. I quite like the idea of an Optimus Prime statue outside Fulham Football Club... But that's beside the point.
Feast your eyes on Thriller, Autobot-style. It's oddly alluring.
Friday, 8 April 2011
FUNNY FRIDAY CLIP #10: Wonka: Drug Baron.
Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka still knocks Johnny Depp's out the park in my opinion.
Here's a little trailer mash-up showing Wonka as a drug-dealer.
Watching this, I feel a little stupid having never noticed anything along those lines before..!

Retro X-Men Covers.
Total Film have released three amazing magazine covers to celebrate the upcoming release of X-MEN: FIRST CLASS.
In all honesty, I'm not a massive fan of the Emma Frost/January Jones cover. It does what it needs to, but is in no way as striking or original as the next two.
I love how they've made the Charles Xavier/James McAvoy cover look like a Time magazine special.
And Michael Fassbender looks every bit the dashing matinee idol (if not a little self-assured and complex) as Erik Lehnsherr.

Steve Martin's Personal Reply.
Steve Martin. Kooky, hilarious and damn good banjo player.
I've just got my hands on a response he wrote after receiving a fan's letter.
I say 'wrote'.. Take a look for yourself.
Pure Steve Martin.
Captain America 'F**k Yeah' Part 2.
So a few weeks ago I posted a video that someone had posted on YouTube that remixed the CAPTAIN AMERICA Super Bowl spot with the infamous theme tune from TEAM AMERICA: WORLD POLICE.
Well, since the first full trailer has now been released, the brains behind the first parody have come back with a second, much funnier video.
It uses the entire new trailer and also incorporates the song 'Freedom Isn't Free' this time around.

If Zack Snyder Did Disney.
I've just seen this and it's too impressive to keep to myself!
Mashup veteran Breanne Brennan has made this faux trailer featuring many of the Disney Princesses.
But, not one to stick to the sweet and fluffy, she's mashed them up with the trailer for Zack Snyder's SUCKER PUNCH, quite possibly my most anticipated film of 2011.
I'll post the Disney version first with the corresponding SUCKER PUNCH trailer below it. I highly recommend watching them both at the same time (the second one runs four seconds behind the Disney version) as it's not too hard to cue them up. Plus, you get to see the incredible attention to detail from Ms. Brennan.
If you haven't seen any trailers for SUCKER PUNCH yet, where have you been?! Get familiar with Snyder's 300 and WATCHMEN and get ready for one hell of a ride...

Charlie Sheen As Edward Cullen?
Earlier today I posted about Emilio Estevez in John Hughes' film, THE BREAKFAST CLUB.
I've just finished watching another John Hughes film, FERRIS BUELLER'S DAY OFF which features Emilio's brother Charlie Sheen in a small but significant role.
There's no doubting the guy's a great actor and I'm not going to get personal here. But while looking at him and the way he acts in this film, I had an overwhelming thought.
If TWILIGHT was written in his day or he was the right age now, does anyone else think he'd be a perfect fit for Edward Cullen?!
An odd thought, I know, but give him the Pattinson quiff and I think we'd have a winner. I think it's a lot more apparent when you see the last photo I've posted.
Emilio Estevez's Drug Dance.
I finally watched THE BREAKFAST CLUB tonight. Long overdue.
And during the scene I've posted below (best quality I could find, sorry!!), something occurred to me.
If this is how Emilio Estevez dances when acting stoned, what the hell would his brother's real-life stoned dance be like?!
Come on Charlie Sheen, show us what you've got!!
Or just get clean and go back to work...

March Desktop: The Graduate.
So much love for these two.
THE GRADUATE is one of the few films that will never leave my top ten, no matter what else comes along.
Unfortunately, I have to admit that the inspiration behind this month's wallpaper came after hearing today about Katharine Ross and her daughter, Cleo. The daughter who she now has a restraining order against. Because she threatened to kill her.
FUNNY FRIDAY CLIP #6: Tom Hanks & His Sexy Baby.
I've always been a massive fan of Tom Hanks, but this just seals the deal...
This is taken from Jimmy Kimmel Live and please, just roll with it, it gets so much better as it goes on.
"Sexy feet.. SEXY FEET!" An Oscar-winner and a legend.

The Gadgets In Brazil.
I'd love to think that Nick Park got his inspiration for Wallace's crazy contraptions in WALLACE & GROMIT from Terry Gilliam's BRAZIL.
From his shower to his curtains, I'd like to think Nick Park took a little inspiration...

1995 Tiger Blood.
So. Charlie Sheen. We all know he's going through another very 'interesting' stage of his life. A stage that has been extremely well documented. He was fired from TWO AND A HALF MEN this week and hasn't held back on letting the world know how he feels courtesy of his Twitter account.
Empire Magazine do a feature called 'Pint of Milk' each month where an actor will answer random questions including, yes, 'How much is a pint of milk?'
Charlie Sheen was featured in one of the magazines from 1995. And it's clear from reading the below interview that even though 2011 has been one hell of a year for the man with Tiger Blood running through his veins, 1995's Tiger Blood is absolutely vintage...
You're known as a bit of a ladies' man. What's the most number of people you've had sex with at any one time?
If I give the honest answer, are they gonna think I'm just a fucking perverted louse, or some kind of hero?
If I give the honest answer, are they gonna think I'm just a fucking perverted louse, or some kind of hero?
It probably depends who's reading it.
Well, one night, I don't know how, I found myself in my bedroom with five girls at once. It was a pile-up, a total pile-up, man. And it wasn't so much about going Caligula, it was very organised. Very ordered. And not to sound like I'm bragging, but all six people in that room came out of it pretty satisfied. Hey, I'm Spanish-Irish. I mean, shit, that's a volatile combination...
Where's the strangest place you've ever had sex?
In one of the tunnels at a stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, where we were shooting Eight Men Out. I had sex with one of the girls working on the film.
When you kiss a co-star, do you use tongues?
Yeah. Nastassja [Kinski, co-star of Terminal Velocity] didn't want to at first, and I wasn't gonna push it. You usually talk about it with the director so it feels like you're discussing business. She said, "I just don't do that," but I can remember watching movies where I swear to God she did...
What do your real-life partners think about you snogging women onscreen?
Some get turned on by it, and with some you just hear about it for days - "I know you were enjoying it!" (Sarcastically) "No, baby, I was thinking about you..."
If Oliver Stone, Kiefer Sutherland and Nastassja Kinski were up against a wall and you had to shoot one to keep the others alive, who would it be and why?
I would off Kiefer. Because that way Oliver and Nastassja will get a chance to work with each other. Yeah, I'll just put Kiefer right out of his misery. Remove him from his hell. And mine.
When did you last worry about money?
About a week ago. I'm a big collector of baseball memorabilia, and there was an auction that came up and I really wanted an item - the first ever Shoeless Joe Jackson bat. I talked to my business manager, "Will we have enough money, without digging into the kitty?" She said no.
How much was it?
It opened at $50,000 and I'm guessing it closed at $150,000. But that's wanting money and it not being available. Does that count as a worry?
Not really.
Things were a little tight right after Hot Shots! because as I was making my money, it was going into a house I was building. The budget went up close to a million dollars because of this builder breaking regulations. He split the country. I was worried then. I dunno, man. I feel that the more you worry about money the less you have. Money to me is energy. You can purchase freedom.
Do lunchtime queues at banks piss you off?
Yeah, but the extent of my banking is one of those machines. If I can't get by on $1000 a day, cash, I should be shot, right?
Probably, yes. If a woman is nice to you, do you wonder if she's after your looks, or your face, your money, yourself, or what?
If it's an extraordinarily beautiful woman, you really can put aside those concerns. Whatever she wants, she still has to go through me to get it, right?
If you had to lose an arm or your movie career, which would you choose?
Fuck. (Long pause.) Career. Because I'm a baseball player, and the thought of not being able to swing a bat, or even to feel both breasts at the same time...
Do you do your own shopping?
I do. I spend a good amount of time in the grocery store. I sample stuff. Occasionally get a nitrous hit off a whipped cream can...
How much is a pint of milk?
It's gotta be about $2.50, three bucks, I dunno. Am I close? How many pounds is a pint of milk?
About 35, 40 pence. Sixty cents or so.
Yeah. You know, I get to the checkout line and I see people who can barely afford their food, and I wanna stand there for an hour and pay for everybody's food.
So why don't you?
I did it in a liquor store once. They all just flushed through. Only cost about 200 bucks, nothing crazy...
Have you ever been tempted to punch a director?
Absolutely. Stephen Herek's a good dude, and afterwards I felt bad, but there was a day on Musketeers when he wanted me to ride a horse bareback and with explosions, it was stunt work basically, and I didn't feel I had to do it. He kept needling me. I thought about dropping him, but that's not gonna help anybody.
When was the last time you did hit someone?
I hit a guy in Phoenix. He was with three friends, taunting me about my family and shit. Really asinine shit. I turned away and backfisted him. He went down in a heap. Then lawsuits. It never got to court and never made the press...
Did you have to pay damages?
About $75,000.
Was it worth it?
It felt pretty good, to tell you the truth.
What do you fear?
Failure. Unhirable, shutdown failure. Sharks. Death.
Is God a man with a big white beard?
Not really. I believe more in the force, a universal power or something that has some hand in our destinies. Religion is for people who are trying to stay out of hell and spirituality is for people who've been through it.
Do you still do drugs?
Not really. When I was doing them it was really fucking things up. I drink off and on, but I'm not as committed to it because I have a bad oesophagus. I've been very good at keeping away from the blow and the pills and all that shit.
If you woke up one morning to find you were Bruce Willis, what's the first thing you'd do?
I'd roll over and have a go at Demi.
What's the most you've ever paid for a pair of shoes?
I think about $2,000.
Two thousand dollars?
Eighteen hundred. But I've had more use out of those shoes than any others. Versace.
Is Tarantino the new Scorsese?
Until he gives me a Taxi Driver or a Raging Bull, I don't think so. But he's someone I wanna work with, I know that. I'm done with the action adventures and the comedies. It's time to get serious again.
Remember, folks, he's bi-winning.

Annie Leibovitz vs. Disney.
The world renowned fashion photographer Annie Leibovitz has been working alongside Disney to produce a fantastic set of pictures, the first of which was released in 2007.
This week three more have been released and include Olivia Wilde, Jeff Bridges and Queen Latifah.
Leibovitz's 'Disney Dream Portrait Series' transforms Hollywood actors (and the odd sportsperson) into beloved Disney characters.
I thought I'd put them up for you all to have a look at, especially as I haven't really had much for the girls to specifically feast their eyes on since I've slowly been working on this page!
